I’ve learned a lot from D’Angelo’s music. Many things. Depth through musical expression, and even how to sing. Not just with your voice, but from your inner core. Something that can’t be replicated by anyone else.

His music had the power to pull music from places you didn’t even know were holding that sound. To soothe, caress, reassure, and bring you back home to yourself.

He showed us soul isn’t something you create, it’s something you uncover.

The Price of Community is Inconvenience

I’ve been seeing this phrase circulating around online, and it made me laugh at first. Mostly because I thought it was sarcasm or a joke. But, once I really scanned the phrase once more - I realized it’s some truth to it entirely.

Community isn’t during cozy times - or when schedules are aligned. It’s in fact- almost never convenient. Unfortunately, we’ve been spoiled by convenience and ease. Starving our dearest connections because we need “perfect timing.”
